 In 1978, I entered the U.S. Navy Aviation Officer Candidacy School in Pensacola Florida. I was designated a Naval Aviator in 1980 after completed advanced jet training in Beeville TX. During the Cold War, I went on to fly the carrier based S-3 Viking aboard the USS Eisenhower (CVN-69).
Following active service, I served three years in the Naval Reserves at NAS Atlanta attached to the U.S.S Saratoga. I was hired by a major airline in 1985 where I have flown the B-727, DC-8, L-1011, B-737, MD-88, B-757, B-767, and most recently, the B-777.  I’m currently a Captain and have held positions in management, training, the Airline Pilots Association, and served as a Line Check Airman for almost 10 years.

During the first years of my airline career, I attended Atlanta Law School, passing the Bar in 1992.  I received my undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and hold a Masters of Science in Administration degree from Central Michigan University.

I am an active member of the Georgia Bar and have been admitted to United States District Court, the Federal Tax Courts, am accredited to practice before the Department of Veterans Affairs, and  admitted and qualified before the Supreme Court of the United States. The Supreme Court of George has certified me as a General and Family Law Mediator.

I am a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society, Lawyer Pilots Bar Association, and International Air and Transportation Safety Bar Association. I am the past President of the Atlanta Wake Forest Alumni Club and was an active member of the Wake Forest Alumni Council.

I am a four time Ironman Triathlete and actively competes in triathlons around the world. I am married to a wonderful lady and have one fantastic son.
